Barbucks

Stories from working at Starbucks that make me want to add a little vodka to my venti.

All the following stories are true. Seriously, I wish I could make these up. However, I can only vouch for mine, and not the submissions. I do not intend offend anyone involved; these are for entertainment purposes only.

Ratings come in tall, grande or venti, or some variation thereof.

peterklibowitz asked: When a barista tells me they don't have the bold pick of the day, but could do a pour over, what the heck does that mean?

Starbucks has a set up that allows us to “Brew By The Cup”. It’s good b/c you get individually brewed coffee, and it’s supposed to take less time than brewing a whole urn (which takes about 5-8 minutes).  But if baristas aren’t prepared with the single cup set up, prep and brewing could take just as long.

It’s your call if you want to wait for them to brew the urn or by-the-cup.

At my store, we often offer customers an Americano (espresso & hot water) in exchange.  Since espresso costs more, this is usually a good deal, but alot of people don’t like the taste.

I wrote a post about this way back when.  Check it out here.

Hope this helps!
