Barbucks

Stories from working at Starbucks that make me want to add a little vodka to my venti.

All the following stories are true. Seriously, I wish I could make these up. However, I can only vouch for mine, and not the submissions. I do not intend offend anyone involved; these are for entertainment purposes only.

Ratings come in tall, grande or venti, or some variation thereof.

I have this one coworker who is very dirty.  Not personal hygene-wise, but making your latte-wise.  I feel bad for the customers every time she is on bar.  I’ve complained to my manager, and I’ve even spoken to this partner about her habits, but she just doesn’t care.

For example, she doesn’t clean the steam wands after every use, so there’s caked on milk on them.  She re-steams milk so it tastes burnt, and she won’t wash out used pitchers so there’s dirty milk in with your clean milk.  And that’s just the bar!

If she’s on warming, she leaves the warming trays in the oven so they burn to a crisp and nearly catch on fire.  She doesn’t know how to rotate the pastries in the case, and she doesn’t know how to date anything properly.

She’s worked there longer than I have.  These are easy concepts to grasp.  And I just found out that she’s been getting all the drink recipes wrong!

My point is, make sure you watch your Barista.  Our bars are open air for a reason.
