Stories from working at Starbucks that make me want to add a little vodka to my venti.

All the following stories are true. Seriously, I wish I could make these up. However, I can only vouch for mine, and not the submissions. I do not intend offend anyone involved; these are for entertainment purposes only.

Ratings come in tall, grande or venti, or some variation thereof.

Clarity

I always repeat an order when a customer says it to me, just to make sure I write it on the cup correctly.  I don’t want mistakes down the line because it’s just a hassle.

I’ll ESPECIALLY do this, sometimes multiple times, if the customer has an accent.

A foreign woman came in and ordered a dopio espresso.  After she received her drink, she got mad that another one didn’t come out.  The barista asked me what happened, and I said I only rang her up for one.  So I had to charge her for a second one.  She then questioned why the price on the board was different than the price on the register.  I told her it’s because we charge tax in the US.

She handed me bills, and in order to give her change, I had to open a roll of coins.  As I was making change, she rudely said that she was having to wait a long time.

I was so shocked.  We were complying to everything she wanted, she skipped the line to fix her order, and she never corrected me when I repeated her order in the first place.

Some people just go out of their way to be nasty to anyone and everyone to make themselves feel better.  I get a lot of these types at work.  It toughens me up.
